Zip It, Christine!

It's stuff like this that makes me weep for women of the world...

On Wednesday, Christine O'Donnell appeared on Piers Morgan's show to promote her book Troublemaker: Let's Do What It Takes To Make America Great Again. This is what happened when O'Donnell was broached about her position on gay marriage:

There are probably things I could say, for instance, she could have given him a quick response and then moved on, but I kind of can't stand Piers. He's an arrogant ass in my eyes, and hearing his voice just makes me want to hit something.

Sorry I don't have much to say other than that. *shifty glance*

No, it's fine. I don't have a requirement on blog responses. ;)

I don't catch this show at all, though I have recently seen an interview with Penn Jillet, and now this one. However, I don't get a chance to say this often, so I'll take it now.
I agree with you wholeheartedly.
Here's the thing. O'Donnell seems to be kind of a "spoiled brat" style politician (or at least she was when she was running, she may run again some time, or maybe she's taking Palin's rout and just trying to cash in and get paid). She wants to show up places and talk about what she wants to talk about without ever being challenged at all. Sadly this seems to be starting to become common among right wing folks because of the prevalence of Fox "News". You naturally get used to being asked only the questions you want to answer and never get any of the questions you do not. Look at how much Michelle Bachmann has been able to slip questions about gay rights, even though she has made a lot of statements about this in the past. I think we may see a lot more of this in the future, and I think it is the end of journalism.

To be honest, I don't think it's going to go to the extremes that people won't be answering for themselves. Even when I was in college ten years ago, people were still required to submit questions for interviews in writing to subjects beforehand. That's most likely still the case today, and I can understand that there are just some subjects people may find it difficult to discuss on national TV, but this was definitely not one of them. She was just acting insane and DEFINITELY spoiled.

Well, she's never had anything to contribute to the dialogue. She says she is a Christian, and that should answer anything about how the rest of us should live. This kind of philosophy is asinine, but it seems to be what goes for leadership in some places. I believe that (insert word I do not like here) is a sin, and therefore it should be illegal for everyone no matter what they believe, because I am right. You are being rude for questioning me.
