This video was originally posted by lather2002 on their LiveJournal, but the video no longer works, so I wanted to re-post it here for everyone's benefit. This is something that I think people on both sides of the capital punishment argument could support.

I pretty much agree with the whole video. But... wasn't there a really bad si-fy horror movie made with this premise? :S

You mean organ donation or inherited memories in organ transplant recipients? There's been horror movies and TV shows about both.

From Wikipedia: The manga series Deadman Wonderland depicts prisoners being farmed for organs depending upon the results of a twisted slot machine, which is used for the purpose of removing an organ or body part (ie. heart, eyes, etc.) from an individual should they lose one of the matches that occur at the titular theme park.

There's also the movies Repo Men and Repo! The Genetic Opera (which I reviewed here before) that talk about organ donation turned into a cash business where organs can be repossessed.

interesting! cellular memory is likely pseudoscience, though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_memory

I'm sure there's skepticism in nearly every scientific discovery or theory, but it's still something to think about.

it probably gets at a psychological truth - we certainly keep tension in our bodies. the main thing with the science here is that there's no hard evidence or even the beginning of an observable mechanism. still, i love this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_Reich
