Meanwhile, back in State City, Missie and Connor have settled into grudging acceptance. They're like cellmates with kids. Livy is into early adolescence, now, and is going through that phase where she hates everybody (although she tries to hide it), and has come to resent her biological mother for leaving her to grow up with this shower. Andy admits that he might be letting his imagination get the better of him, but he suspects that Mercy, next door, has acquired a side piece, while David is too clueless to suspect anything.

I'm finalizing the page proofs for "Feldy's Girl." June's the month.

Contrasting an actually sympathetic protagonist with the striving oafs of the present day should be interesting.
