I think I first came across this joke in an old copy of Punch, but stumbled on it anew on my trip to Spain

I think I read somewhere that although "mañana" literally means "tomorrow", colloquially it usually means "tomorrow, maybe, whenever" with an implied unconcerned shrug. My dad used to say that he didn't like the word because it carried too great a sense of urgency.
