My Nexus 5 is mostly fine and almost entirely trouble free but I had a peculiar problem onset the other week. It started to reboot quite regularly. Then it just kept rebooting... got to the Google screen, rebooted. Got to the google screen, rebooted.
Googled the problem and found a forum where someone said that occasionally a slight defect in the power switch meant it would stick "on" even while making the reassuring microswitch clicky sound. The cure: "Smack it hard on a table -- unsticks it".
I thought bollocks. Read further. Second post someone saying "bollocks". Third post someone saying "No, I thought that but I was so desperate... it works". Fourth post saying "Yes, I thought this was taking the piss but it works." About twenty people saying the same -- it works.
