I'm sure that this is going to have some gross negative effects on tooth economics.

Significant inflationary pressures are already present in the system.

I end up phoning my in-laws (their son is 9 months older than Quatlet, so a couple teeth ahead) to confirm the going rate for upper incisors. They assured me that those are still a pound each, and only molars go up to two pounds...

You may not want to be over lawyerly about the tooth fairy claims. I was talking to a friend yesterday whose child kept a legitimate detached tooth in his mouth for an hour until the end of the school day so he could absolutely be clear on a legitimate claim for the money because the rules were in doubt and he didn't want to lose it.

St that point, I'd risk a small number bogus claims.

Then, I suppose it is good training for rejected expenses claims in later life.

Heh. I'm not really one for the school of child development that says "bad things may happen to them when they grow up so we must do bad things to them now".

We do have clear precedent that if a tooth comes out but you can't find it you can totally put in a claim anyway and expect to get it honoured. If your brainless parents remember.

It's really making me question the whole rationale behind paying children to pull their teeth out.
