The whole kidney transplant reality TV show shock horror thing has been done to death all over the place.

Me, I'm not surprised. I knew that TV had surpassed my poor power to add or detract through satire when I discovered that Temptation Island was not - as I had thought was obviously the case - a spoof, but an actual commissioned show that ( Read more... )

that most of these poor taste programs seem to have Endemols involvement somewhere?

To be fair there's only three that they're directly responsible for - this one plus Big Brother and There's Something About Miriam - that are in this category. They might be one of the most visible exponents of the genre, but they're not the only ones at it, and are probably not on sober reflection the most objectionable of the lot.

Bit like fast food and McDonalds I guess.

Y'know, I could start to get really depressed at the whole Real-Life-Imitates-The-Onion thing. But OTOH: free satire!
