Egyptian cotton is a general classification for the strong, lustrous, long staple cotton produced mainly in the Nile River Valley. The fibers average 1-1/8 to 1-1/2 inches long. The fibers are fine and vary from a light cream to a dark tan in color. Egypt is the world's largest producer of beter quality cottons.
i think it may also be a different species than what's used in like the US production... i've got a contact allergy going on, and i think it may be my sheets, which are new and egyptian cotton (dear god please be the sheets... i gots no other real ideas).
i haven't switched detergents in years i think... i may in fact still be using the same box i had when i moved into the apartment (big box, slow about washing). chances are that i didn't wash the sheets enough, but for the time being they are staying off the bed.
