I'm planning a small exhibition (a dozen or so A3 photographs, possibly objects) on the theme of the uncanny, with the pictures to be taken this spring and early summer. Does anyone have access to an exhibition space which might be appropriate to show them at this autumn or next year ( Read more... )

I haven't signed the contract yet, but once I have, if this appealed I'd be very keen to go with it. Professor Sarah Annes Brown works on the Uncanny so I think she'd be interested as well.

I've been in that very room, he says without checking the link. there's a small side room with vol au vents.

This is of course an attempt to find impact as we square the circle of having refability but no impact and vice versa and bridging practice-theory interchange. I see I haven't uploaded the photographs I took in Cambridge, but the chronophage might be a suitable subject.

Somewhere along the line I'm trying to pin down the cognitive uncanny, so it does link back to sf, so it might fit with a certain other professor there, too.

Subtext: from my point of view it might be ideal.

I am going over to chat to people in the department on the 24th Feb. Would you be willing to sketch me a proposal?

There is a form at the bottom of this page: http://www.anglia.ac.uk/ruskin/en/home/microsites/ruskin_gallery/about_the_gallery.html

I will do - the ideas are coming thick and fast and I am about to write a conference CFP anyway. If I recall there's a 16 March deadline for 12/13 exhibitions in the Ruskin; I'll check impact deadlines to see if autumn 2013 would creep in.

I'll drop you an email by Tuesday with some ideas.
