For those who do not know, this is Solar Flares: A Cultural History of Science Fiction in the Seventies

Introduction: Needs rationalising, and the autobiographical needs a thinking through.

1. The Dinosaur's Last Gasp: needs five hundred words on Sturgeon; waiting for Volume XIIII of the stories to arrive.
   
2. The New Wave: large chunks to be written,

I would love to have a look at it at some point - particularly at the Big Dumb Objects chapter, obviously.

It needs a significant quotation adding, but I could email you the latest draft of that chapter once that's in - if memory serves only about half the chapter is about BDOs, the rest is about Wells and to some extent Verne, for reasons which made sense at the time but probably deserves a new chapter title. Meta-sf isn't quite it, but there is a sense of dialogue.

And given the material I've added to the intro today, I need to add the words "cognitive estrangement" a few times...

This is definitely one of those projects where I've chiseled away to find the statue underneath, but it took longer to chisel than anticipated.
