A productive day, leavened by some bad news. I've also caught up another episode and a half of Ashes to Ashes, which seems to be hinting at the it's-all-a-spaceship solution, and thus more "Major Tom" than "Life on Mars".

The fly is that ointment is the dodgy connection at Ashford - I would have missed it this am due to train sitting east of A; not sure if it's an hour or half hour wait. Can-Vict-Chich is least time on train but seems to assume long wait at Vic. Best - and in theory, cheaper - bet is Can-Ton-Red-Chic, avoiding London. But does trip across Can outweigh wait at Vic? I don't think so as I was using Travel Direct (which I suspect may be one of those feelthy Quangos)
