Quantum Voting

So the British public sent a message - we wanted a Tory victory but we didn't want them to have a majority. Given I only had one vote, in one location, how did I know how to vote in order to send that message? Which slot did I go through?

Yes, that's been irritating me too - this assumption that somehow we all meld into some kind of hive mind around election day, coming up with nuanced results as if there were a common will behind it. Philosophical naivete is one thing, but when they try to justify what their doing in terms of this fictional will rather than in terms of playing the hand that millions of individual decisions have cumulatively dealt them, it's slightly more disturbing.
