Japan has lots of 100 yen stores where everything is 105 yen (5% sales tax). I ran into a 99 yen store in Yokohama where everything was 104 yen inc. sales tax. That included the 99% cocoa chocolate bars which were 100 gram in weight, not 99 gram. What a swiz!

I did feel rather as if I was much further east, with queues forming for potatoes. Someone demanded a cigarette from the person behind me in the line for the cash point. Not quite with menaces, but near enough.
