This wasn't where I'd thought I'd be, but even in the run up we'd got to plan d or e, so spending a lump of money to avoid wasting a small about of money made sense, and it ticked something off the list.
There's a missing the point thing - either us or them. They clearly wish us to purchase a bag for life, rather than reuse a remarkably quickly disintegrating bag from Another Supermarket. (Tesco's bags flake after a few months; I am not a chemist nor do I play one on TV but I am not sure whether is thus biodegrades) Me, I get as much use out of bags as I can (although this may include cat litter usage)
I think the furry teacup woman - the furry breakfast set at least - is represented, but I'm blanking on her name and the catalogue is in the other room. There was a furry beer glass, and posters/publicity for the teapot. Note there are Podthings to download - Antony - son of Lee Miller and Roland ICA-co-founder Penrose - Penrose on various work - from their webpage. http://www.manchestergalleries.org/angelsofanarchy/
I came out of the exhibition aware of my own ignorance - no bad thing.
(Whitworth Gallery is also worth a look, from memory)
I don't think Objet, Le Déjeuner en Fourrure is there, but Andenken an das Pelzfrühstück and Pelzhanschuhe are, and the masculine Eichhhörnchen (beer glass with furry tail).
The trams seem to be running again.
I think you are right about the self-made men - I wonder if the classical is in lieu of the grand tour? I didn't get to Urbis.
