I've gathered that already from reading the book and googling his name in search of obits - I think his fiance died and he didn't get invited to the funeral, his attempt to get picked up at the end of the book; a certain amount of ownership over his research topics such as the milieu of Jack the Stripper, a sense of him living via the telephone (see: http://stewarthomesociety.org/blog/?p=742) and alienating people.

Apparently he'd moved to Faber, but I'm guessing the David Jacobs book was not written.

seabrook and sinclair! i seem to remember reading something by stewart home about seabrook and the unsolved murders that was quite good.

From the bit I read at Home's blog there was at best mixed feelings - but I've not googled further.
