  • Susan Cooper, The Dark is Rising

Half right: Sally Ledger (who just died, I'm sorry to hear) used to work at UWE before she went to Birkbeck. She lived about 30 seconds' walk from where I'm sitting now.

She did - far too young, in January this year.

I guess I assumed you and Roger must have been at the same ICFA or other literary conference at some point.

Measuring cups, sieve and bowls. Although it works out about a fiver each.

And I fear in other senses they may be Too Much.

If only I wasn't spending money like water right now.
