A glimpse into my obviously troubled mind

For those of you who don't know, I am really bad at math. Don't bother trying to teach me math tips and tricks -- this is not a cry for help. It's a simple statement of fact: Dawn is bad at math. Always has been ( Read more... )

TELL ME A STORY!! Besides, David says he knows and I think that's totally unfair. Don't you love me anymore?

Barbie said it..."Math is tough."

This is the same reason I was able to sing along, albeit badly, to Jane Wiedlin's "Rush Hour" in your apartment recently. I guarantee I hadn't heard that since the year it was released (1988?)

Oh, and I once passed the calculus portion of my college career by writing a very nice note to my prof in my blue book. I closed it with, "I suppose I'll be back and seeing you next semester. I'll bring you a nice snack." When I called to get my grades, I had a passing one. Not a pretty grade, but I passed and did not have to repeat it. A combination of pity and him not wanting to explain again to a girl that would clearly NEVER have to use it again got me the "D". I took it and ran. My parents weren't as happy with it as I was.

Finite math...statistics and that? THAT, I can do. I even did well in that class.

yup i have to agre love i have no earthly clue as to why one would need algebra. and to boot it is something that I need to figure out in order to get my HS diploma sometime in the very near future. *sigh* for what it is worth. I would have figured out the song as well. Loved the Carpenters when I was younger, and thought I hate to admit it I have that song on my PC...lol

Depends on what you do for a living. Though I *have* found a *couple* of uses for it in the last few years, I couldn't tell you what they were..

(well, except for my new job... but that doesn't count, because I'm a math assistant at a middle school now :-)

I do not have my degree because math just does not compute in my brain. I took algebra 3 times to graduate high school. I have lost count of the number of times I tried in college. I know of at least 5. All other classes were 4.0.

You do not know how many times I have pondered hiring someone to take the damned math classes for me.

hmmmmm... correspondence...
