‘I’m going to stand under the mistletoe and not move a step till you to kiss me!’ Draco said and the air whirled with the magic of a wizard’s oath.
Hermione was absolutely baffled. Malfoy had been her colleague for years, a good friend but she’d never considered him to be even slightly attracted to her.
Trouble was that she felt incredibly attracted to him. He was so gorgeous with a brilliant personality. But there were always gorgeous witches around him, so she didn’t want to destroy their friendship with attempting to become more than friends.
Tonight was the Ministry’s Yule Ball so she had pretended to be chatting happily with her friends, when all she had eyes for was Draco.
And now he had condemned himself to standing under the mistletoe. It might’ve turned into a shameful fiasco, if she didn’t want to kiss him, but it wouldn’t end that way.
Hermione let him stand there for a few minutes, watching his confident smile turn into a solemn expression.
She didn’t want to make him wait too long, so she slowly strode towards him, ignoring the questioning stares of others.
Not hesitating any longer she crashed her lips against his, enjoying the feel and taste of him. It was perfect. Better than she imagined.
‘I knew I had to bring out your inner Gryffindor,’ he said and smiled.
‘Why?’ she asked, puzzled, but didn’t disentangle her hands from their embrace.
‘As there was no other Slytherin method to get you to kiss me,’ he answered and kissed her again. His plan to finally show the little feisty lioness that he wanted to be more than friends with her had finally worked.
