Round 2 Challenge #8: Voting
Gather round the water cooler … It’s time for week 8!
A couple of things to remember when deciding which drabbles to vote for (most and least favorite):
Guidelines:
Which drabble best incorporates the prompt?
2. Is the drabble clever, different, fresh? Does it evoke an emotional response (good or bad)?
3. Does the drabble contain grammar, canon or spelling errors?
The “feedback” option.
As a voter, you have the option of leaving a brief statement about why you voted the way you did, for both most and least favorite. Your feedback will then be given to the drabble writer (if they want the feedback) ANONYMOUSLY.
Example: Most - #40: the ending was brilliant - OR - Least - #57: the ending fell flat

Hermione pushed the Prophet toward Draco. “Check out Rita Skeeter's latest.”
In the newsprint photograph, Harry appeared to embrace Draco and cuddle against his chest. The headline screamed, Potter/Malfoy Tryst-EXPOSED!!
“Tryst, my arse! The clumsy oaf fell on me during training!” Draco shook the paper. “This explains those ridiculous Howlers.” His girlfriend laughed, but he read on.
Devoted readers, we now know why Malfoy changed sides. He did it all for the love of Harry Potter.
Draco snorted. “Funny thing, I did do it all for love,” he took Hermione's hand, “but I did it all for you.”

The door to her office flung open by the tousled blond startled her.
“Is it true?” He panted.
“Is what true?”
“Damn it, woman! I ran up three flights of stairs to find out! Is it true?” He bit out.
“It could be,” she hedged.
Leaning against the door frame, he asked, “Well?”
“Yes, Ron is a poofter.”
“I knew it!”
“And… he admits to fantasizing about you.”
A smirk worthy of a Slytherin graced her features as she appraised Draco‘s gaping countenance.
“So now two thirds of the Golden Trio find you sexy. Should I ask Harry his opinion?”

Title: Swallow My Pride

Nothing human was perfect, but she was… for him, at least. Hermione complimented, challenged, and completed him. Her body fit against his as if they were one. Their chemistry was perfect… but perhaps they weren’t.
They’d fallen apart, hadn’t they?
Draco didn’t know when they’d begun to crumble, but he cursed his pride, and hers, too. It was the root of their problems. Neither had been willing to compromise, but that wasn’t true, either.
After all, she’d swallowed her pride when she’d asked, “Are the rumours true? You’re over me?”
And Draco swallowed his when he’d replied, “Not even close.”

Hermione stopped reading as her eyes blurred with angry tears. Suddenly, she heard a familiar eagle owl tapping at her windowsill.
“Great. More trouble,” she moaned.
However, the message wasn’t what she expected.
Granger,
Don’t give the sow the satisfaction. Watch tomorrow’s paper.
Draco
Next morning, the Prophet’s headline read “Warehouse Fire Incinerates Skeeter’s Books!”
Hermione wondered how to phrase an arson thank you note.

Title: No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

Word Count: a dollar.
Although it was unusual for Hermione Granger to indulge in vapid blather, she found the latest water-cooler hearsay went against her logical sensibilities to 'never tickle a sleeping dragon'. So with biting brown eyes and a fist on her hip, she informed her fellow associates that in her experience, Draco Malfoy was the farthest thing from a virgin and certainly not a homosexual, and it was completely ridiculous that any of them would assume such nonsense. Trust her. She would know.
Much to her chagrin, her over-protective vehemence only caused more office fodder. Only this time, it was undoubtedly true.

A year later, they were still playing it.
She blushed at most of the things people had said about her, especially if they were true.
“So, I heard this rumor…,” he began.
She threw her arms up. “Who knew I was such a hot topic in school?”
“Oh, this is one I just heard a couple weeks ago.” He moved in close, smirking to cover his nerves.
“I heard that you wouldn’t be upset if I kissed you.”
The pink stain on her neck was spectacular.
