So intriguing! I love the room they are in-- it's beautiful and elegant, plus it piques my curiosity. And even more, I wonder what their difference of agreement is, exactly? :) Hermione is upset; will she stay that way? Not if Malfoy can help it, I bet. A great composition!

Thank you!

Unfortunately, the bit of room on the left has some Muggle technology in it -- an old Apple Mac and a phone -- that I didn't notice until after I'd finished doing Hermione's hair (when it was too late!). Maybe the Malfoys have started collecting Muggle artefacts :-)

I had in mind that Draco might have proposed. The picture of Emma originally showed her laughing but when I put her with Draco her expression suddenly changed and became much more ambiguous!

Oh it's wonderful, so many ways to interprete this scene. I do hope their difference of opinion is based on a misunderstanding. Draco might have acted in a more Slytherin, multi interpretable way to protect her, and Hermione might have in a real Gryffindor way jumped to the wrong conclusions.
I'd love to read a story about this image.

Thank you! I was thinking that Draco might have proposed.

The picture of Emma originally showed her laughing but when I put her with Draco her expression suddenly changed! Draco will have to do some wooing.

What if it's not the marriage law but Draco is either cursed or had a potions accident and is acting as a sort of mad scientist? Proposing because she is the one in his twisted POV and indeed locking her up if she refuses? Then she has both to placate him and find a cure..

I do like the idea of a curse! Something that can only be broken if he marries Hermione/a mudblood, so he's trying to coerce her, but falling for her at the same time. And Hermione can see that the only way to avoid a marriage she doesn't want is, as you say, to find an alternative cure.

This makes me think of all the fanfics where Draco kidnaps Hermione to keep her safe. I imagine that would definitely not be something she'd appreciate. Nice. :)

That was the sort of scenario I had in mind -- maybe Draco has proposed. And, originally, she was supposed to be laughing but when I put them together her expression became much more ambiguous :-)

Thank you!

Here's my interpretation: marriage law proposal - he shows her the library in all its wonderfulness (on the left), hoping it'll be enough to sway her into choosing him as her husband. She is appalled, though, as he's the last man on earth she'd ever pick from the list of potentials (utilizing the title). He becomes angry at her rejection and tosses her in the dark room on the right to give her time to 'come to her senses', imprisoning her instead.

I love how he's standing behind her, sort of menacing and supremely confident she'll make the right decision - or else.

Was I close? I love your manips, BTW. Always well done! :)

Brilliant!

I hadn't thought of Marriage Law, but that fits really well! The bare room on the right-hand side was meant to suggest danger but imprisonment is even better. And that was what I intended the title to mean. You get (more than) full marks :-)

Thank you!
