Excellent... I'm glad to see more spaces for shorter story nominations!

I guess I'm used to writing/reading longer one-shots! I was surprised at the word counts and it just couldn't stay that way. Thanks for the suggestion, by the way! If we'd cut it at 10K words, there would only be 2, I think.

Very pleased with this change. Something was bothering me about the previous version but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

A note of surprise: No new author catagory? I just remembered reading something on the Pit (it was a crack_broom, rec, I think) and I was going to nominate her, but *sigh*.

I thought of another(s) notable plot catagory (for next time) listing here so I can memory and remember during the suggestions session.

Best Original Character.
Best Holiday story.
Best use of a Time-Turner.
Best Sidekick (canon character other than Hr or D).

The Original Character / Sidekick thing can be tricky, though. I usually do OC's that use canon names of characters we know virtually nothing about, and I suspect that quite a few others do the same.

I also had some thoughts for categories at some point, but being the bright witch that I am, I forgot them again...

If you think of them, don't hesitate to send them!

That exactly why I listed them here.

If you use a canon name, that's not an OC, to me - OCs are wholly new cloth. From the name up. (example: Sharlotte Malfoy from Class Reunion by mister_otter) A canon name puts the character in sidekick, regardless of info available. What you do with the canon (OoC, IC, AU, compliant) is another ball of wax, entirely.
