1) I didn't dare hope at all. I knew they would keep it as straight as possible. I wish it had been a bit longer though. I didn't really get a nice long look at anybody.
2)I think I'll have to see the film a few more times before I can decide that. The first time watching the film I was too emotional about it and wasn't really focusing. haha.
You are totally more coherent at 3:00 a.m. then I am right now. I need sleep!
Short answers due to midnight tiredness.
Tom - hot, not enough Draco Emma - amazing, perfect Hermione
1) Didn't hope at all. Ron/Hermione isn't even in my top three ships, but I love them in canon and they are all sorts adorable in this movie. My only hope for the epilogue was for Draco too look younger and see some Scropius, but alas...no.
2) I don't write, only read (and review and pester!), but I'd love to read some Dramione missing moments movie canon fics. That would be well. :)
And I don't know about a deeper connection, but maybe a little more obsessive? :P Hey, Hermione is totally the first one to turn around when Draco is called! Stuff likie that.
Seeing the epilogue in canon!movie has inspired me too write older Draco&Hermione fic, it was one thing seeing it in my head and another seeing it on the big screen. Although I'm extremely disappointed at the way they made Draco look! Everyone else looked decent and there he was with his goatee from Amish country and his freaking receding hair-line, seriously wtf? shouldn't he have inherited Lucius' shiny blond locks?
I know! I was looking forward to his 19 years later scene just because I wanted to see how they would make him up... and it was AWFUL! The goatee thing was hideous... but more than that, I felt his character was all wrong. JK Rowling painted him to be a stiff aristocratic man at Kings Cross. This Draco was smiling and hugging and all joyful looking.. It just didn't work for me :(
I used to have this theory, before the 7th book came out, that if Draco ran to the Order instead of the Death Eaters, we might get a situation where he and Hermione would be able to interact. Maybe Hermione would be forced to keep an eye on him.
I was hoping that in the movie, Hermione would be the one to rescue Draco on the broom as they flied the Fiendfire, but... I knew that wasn't going to happen for a number of reasons. I was hoping that in the end, when Voldy called out for Draco, he would back into the crowd, showing his change of heart. That would have been awesome.
I was hoping for him to make a stand in that final scene of his as well... Something cool, with even Narcissa and Lucius changing sides too. I mean, they changed quite a few (minor) details, why not one more? But No! they made him and his family out to be traitors and cowards (which I merely state) and end their role like that. Which I didn't mind as much actually. It seemed almost like an attempt to repent for Lucius even if he did it out of selfishness...
I haven't seen it yet, but damn I *was* holding out hope for some final wink to the fans. Even-though It's been years, and I have let my HP love cool over time, I never gave up on my suspicion that Draco had fallen for Hermione after the 3rd year.
I still kinda want J.K. to acknowledge it on her pottermore site, did anyone else arch an eyebrow when Draco's wife was a brunette? Or was it just me?
No I noticed as well! I saw it and I was a bit confused... I don't know if its canon or fanon that's made Astoria into a blonde, but I truly wasn't expecting a brunnete to play her. Eehh I can pretend that it was a itsy bitsy wink to Dramione ;)
And about Pottermore.. I do hope that JK Rowling at least acknowledges fanfiction in general.. I mean after all the time we as a fandom have spent unraveling her books and reworking and rethinking her stories, we shouldn't just be swept aside. That being said, I doubt this acknowledgement will happen via Pottermore. It seems to be strictly canon from what I've heard...
