Thanks! I keep picturing the tortoise winning the race. :-D I really, REALLY like my story idea and outline, so that keeps me going too. I just need more duct tape for the kids...

I have written about 1/3 of my story. I have Friday and Saturday off work this week and plan to really focus on this then.

Now I just need to find a beta. I have tried at Perfect Imagination, but three of out of the three betas I've queried have turned me down due to scheduling. I have a couple more there to try then I'm going over to H&V.

Oh, and yeah, I'll be needing a beta too! Haha.

Maybe we could post an exchange call-in specifically as a call for betas? All of us who are writing could always try swapping stories (assuming we don't have each other) and beta for one another.

I have a good word count, but I'm still stressing about whether I'll make it in time and omg who'll beta it if they only get like two days for XX k words and and and... yeah. IDK. Working my ass off here, doing my best! >_>;

You could always send the majority of the fic to your beta and the last bits when you do finish. I did that with someone once--beta'd an unfinished fic. She actually got me the last pieces mere minutes after writing them, at 3am the night the fic was due! Ahh, fun times. :)

Yeah, I do that sometimes but this time it's a little bit different. It's hard to explain. How I prefer to get things betaed varies from fic to fic and depends heavily on whether I honestly think something is done or might need a rewrite. >_>
