Fic Prompt
Hello Dramione fans!
Just a little idea I had a while back -- posted on the GE forums, but so far, no luck. It's a story that I'd love to read, but, sadly, I don't have the ability to write it. So, just throwing it out in hopes that it will intrigue one of you enough to take it up!
The story revolves around the Dark Mark and its lingering effects.
Draco and Hermione are happily married, and they have a little girl. One day, a mysterious person attacks the Ministry's daycare, and the Healers at St. Mungo's figure out that the only children harmed are those who have one or both parents who were former Death Eaters. An old Healer is able to find a counter-curse in some obscure text to save the children, but it can only be cast by the parent with the Dark Mark. Draco saves his little girl, and now he and Hermione are on the hunt for who and why.
Just a further note: I always imagined that, during the final confrontation with the attacker, all four Malfoys would be present (i.e., Lucius, Narcissa, Draco, and Hermione). The attacker would probably be a former Death Eater who never re-integrated into the wizarding community post-Second War, and targeting the children of former Death Eaters is his/her way of punishing the "traitors".
