accioDHr has a cliche list (or someone does--maybe you? I think that I've seen a poll like this before, only on the specific cliches. See what happens when you drive-by LJ like I do?) I would suggest that each person wishing to participate come up with three to five prompts for cliche fic, then claim another person's prompt in a screened post. This allows for the element of surprise but would also be able to just pick a prompt that inspires your muse or explodes into a bunny
( ... )
Heh, I think I asked for a cliché list to help populate the accioDHR! tags (and check out the possibility of having a cliché fic fest, actually). :P
Yeah. I think I'd rather have people claim prompts/tags as their own or something. I've seen some challenges where they were free-for-alls but with number limits, and no "deadline" so people dropped out like flies... :-/
I like the 3-5 cliché prompt lists ... Sort of like, "Veela" can be anything, but making it more specific and generalised would make it more "approachable" (depending on how specific it is, I suppose).
I absolutely love acciodhr. It's a really great website and the tag clouds are so nice. :D
I would love an exchange or just a regular fic fest. If some people have issues with certain cliches (I know that I cannot write a Veela fic for the life of me), then there can be a section that asks "Which cliche are you unwilling to write?". Based on this and other questions, you can easily match people up. :)
I think I would organize it by first off, having a list of set cliches in the fandom. I think that would be better than having people think of their own. But for D/Hr there are TONS and if you can't think of enough, just poll and ask the fanom and they will tell you, lol. But that way, you can be sure that the fics are all truly "cliches". So yeah, once you have the list of cliches, then people can submit their prompts for what they want and what they are willing to write. And when it comes to cliche, they can choose 2 - 4 or something from the list ( or 2 - 3 ) and that is what they will get a fic on. I like that because then everyone has the same choices of cliches and it will be way interesting to see what people come up with. :)
i was enjoying giving my opinion so much i think i'll keep doing it.
so, as i said, i think if i was organising it i'd run a challenge a week, on a particular dramione cliche (potion partners, shared dorms, train carriage-sex, etc) and at the end have winners for each particular cliche, then maybe a winner overall, or something like that.
i really really like this idea though! i'd love to have a go at it!
Oh! so are you suggesting that it's an actual fic, rather than just a drabble? In that case, yeah, you're right of course. In that case a different format would be better than what i've suggested. hmmm...
