Before you click 'Join this community' make sure you have an age statement on your User Info page -- either a full date of birth, with year, which must be visible to everyone so that I can see it, or a sentence in your Bio that simply says 'I am over 18'.
This is a Live Journal requirement. It ensures that all our members are over 18 and that, by f-locking mature posts, we never knowingly allow underage readers to access mature material.
Edit your profile and
- next to 'Show your birthday to;' select 'Everybody' from the drop-down list
- next to 'Birthday display options' select 'Display month, day, and year'.
Also: if you've just set up an LJ account, make sure you've confirmed your email address before you apply for membership or I will not be able to approve your application (I'll just get a weird error message ;-)
