“I have a tattoo, you know,” Maureen said one night, trying to dismiss the silence that had been floating around the loft all day. She raised her coffee mug to her lips and looked around for reactions.
“Where? I’ve never seen it,” Benny said.
“Marky has,” she grinned playfully.
Mark promptly blushed and muttered something along the lines of “nothing Benny should ever see” before sipping his tea.
Benny furrowed his brow. “What is it? And why do you bring it up now?”
“Just making conversation,” she shrugged. “It’s just three little stars. I got it in high school on a dare. I like it though.”
“Well why can’t I see it?”
“You will…” Maureen grinned again, “when the time is right.”

“We raise our glass, you bet your ass to…” Mark sang.
Maureen stood on the table in front of Mark, back to Benny. As her ex-boyfriend sang, “You bet your ass”, Maureen slowly pulled down her pants revealing three little stars tattooed on her backside.
I guess the time is right, Benny thought to himself.
