Character intro - Dr. Robert Chase

Jun 05, 2007 02:57

I'm Dr. Robert Chase. Yes, I'm an Aussie, but that doesn't mean I'm going to appreciate jokes about marsupials or coming from "down under".

I've been at Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital for four years now. It started out as a fellowship, then became a dictatorship but I've stuck around for a while longer because working with House has offered ( Read more... )

Want to be like House, Chase? Not exactly the best route to take.

I said I wanted to be like House. I didn't say I wanted to be House.

What, would you have preferred I said I wanted to be like you, and nobly sacrifice my job so I didn't turn into that monster Dr House?

Please.

*eyeroll*

At least I actually fight back against House, instead of kissing his damn ass every day.

There seems to be a lot of doctors around here. Are you that bored with saving lives? Or do you guys know something we don't and know something bad's going to happen?

That made a lot more sense in my head.

I'm Buffy, by the way.

And you're kinda cute.

I'm not sure why there are so many of us; but I can tell you I'm definitely not bored with my job. Sure, running labs and trying to get my boss to listen to me can get tiring, but I see so many interesting things that it's mostly worth it.

Buffy, eh? What'd you do to get saddled with a name like that?

Guess it's good to have doctors around. Seems there's a lot people around here getting pregnant and hurt. Bet you'll find something to do sooner or later.

My parents had a bad sense of humor. Or they were high on something. Hard telling with those two.

I guess our parents grew up in a time of excess. May have not turned out for the best, but I try to focus on the future; at least I can change that.

So since you're not going to tell us all about where you went to school and what your grades were, and you've already covered who you wanted to be like...

What do you do for fun? Or is medicine your life?

I'm Rogue by the way. Nice to meet you. Can I call you Robert, Or is it Doctor Chase?

Fun? Oh, I enjoy a lot of things, a good pub meal, a nice strong mistress woman who isn't afraid to take what she wants drink. I don't mind a game of tennis or a swim either. Although, admittedly, Cameron has shown me that there are more enjoyable forms of exercise.

Of course, I don't have much time outside my job, but it doesn't really bother me. It's not like I have anyone to go home to.

You can call me whatever you like. Everybody does. But I prefer Chase.

So, what do you like to do for fun? And how can I involve myself in it somehow?

Well, you certainly have more varying interests than I do. I've never been terribly sporty unless you count beating the crap out of hard light projections. I'm more of a reading girl. And you can involve yourself in what I do anyway you like, sugar. Just make sure you got gloves. Or you don't mind a girl in a body stocking, or all covered in leather

Well, Chase it is.

I'm afraid I don't read much, unless you count medical journals. I guess everyone is an individual, or so I'm told. Just don't let yourself get fat, or I'll come and yell at you until you get up off your ass.

So, Rogue, does that mean you wear a lot of tight black clothing? And stab people in the back with daggers for +2d6 damage.

I knew I never should have let them talk me into D&D at uni.
