Jondy sat on the roof of the tallest building she knew, over looking the city. The sky was clear that night and she could see the stars twinkling. She watched the people go about their business below her. She'd just gotten a phone call from Syl, one of her sisters. Most would think it was a good thing but it wasn't. She'd just learned that her baby sister, her best friend was dead. Shot. She hadn't seen Max since the escape and it made her sad that now she'll never get to see Max all grown up.
A part of her wished she'd be there. That maybe if she had Max would still be alive. Jondy shook the thought from her head. "I can't do that. I can't live my life on what ifs. I just have to remember she's in the good place now. With Eva and Jack and all the others that didn't make it." Jondy said to herself, as a tear ran down her cheek. She knew it would be hard but she'd get through it. She had to be strong. That's what Max would want.
