Title: Not Like House
Prompt/Number: 006. Gentleman
Rating: PG-13 (just to be safe)
Character/Fandom: Eric Foreman // House, MD
Word Count: 308

The idea that he and House were one in the same annoyed him to no end. Because it wasn’t like he didn’t realize he was picking up on some of House’s-less favorable-characteristics, but he had to in order to deal with the man. Generally speaking, House only responded to what he used himself, and if Foreman had to be nasty to get his point across then, damnit, he was going to do it. He had never had scruples when it came to standing up for himself in the work place and defending anything from the ability to do his job to his record. And if he needed to be an ass to do it, he was going to be an ass.

There was a difference between him and House. Foreman was actually capable of being a human being outside the workplace. He could be the perfect gentleman if he wanted to. He had friends, associates, family. He had had more than one solid romantic relationship in his lifetime. He didn’t resort to hookers because no one loved him. He was a full-fledged, for the most part law-abiding member of society. House, on the other hand, couldn’t get along with anyone if you paid him a million dollars. No, wait. He probably would. But once the money was in his hands, he would automatically revert back to his usual misanthropic who didn’t give a damn what people thought, and was now a million dollars richer. Not that he had anyone to share it with. Not that he would share at all.

Yes, maybe Foreman had his pride. And yes, maybe he could be a first class ass to his co-workers. He was a jerk when he needed to be, and may share certain-personality traits with the man he worked for.

He was still nothing like House.
