Ooh, hard choice. My first instinct was the puppy fund, but I picked office supplies in the end... organization is key! (And then you can write on it about getting the puppy!)
you can change the colour of the hydrangeas by putting them in acidic or basic soil. if your neighbours have white ones that overwintered from previous years, they could have lost the pH of their original soil (which came with them from the greenhouse in a little pot) and eventually got neutral pH and therefore look boring white. I think that throwing lime on the soil around the plants makes them bluer, but I might have that reversed.
OR your neighbours might have woody hydrangeas (aka snowball bush) which is always yellowish white.
(I used to do landscaping while I was in University as a summer job.)
They are so cute! We saw one at the pound the other day. He was a golden retriever/border collie cross and was all fluffy and sleepy with huge paws. So, so cute!
If you get a hydrangea after Easter, you'll pay half price and then have your hydrangea and puppy too!
Hey, if your puppy pees on your pink hydrangea, he'll turn it blue!
