"All These Guys Unzip Their Flies For..."

starfishchick and I had an excellent discussion yesterday (via GChat) on the subject of porn. Our talk served as the inspiration for this poll:

Not suitable for children or certain workplaces )

I'm pretty open to whatever a partner might be into porn-wise, but I'd have to draw a sharp line a child-pornography and snuff. That sort of blantant abuse isn't sexy or okay with me.

You see, I said I was fine with anything...because I don't even think of that stuff as porn.

An interesting distinction. "Pornography" is such a nebulous term -- I'm always curious about the specific ways in which people choose to define it.

My opinions on many of the question in this poll are rudimentary ( ... )

I've seen my fair share of pornographic films/images. My experience is that while material does exist which is pro female-sexuality, it's hard to come by and far from the norm.

From my work and taking to friends, it seems common and understandable to have reservations about a partner's solo-porn consumption. As you say, a lot of it depends on how said porn effects the relationship. Although I'm comfortable now with knowing that DK does enjoy porn without me, it took years of discussion, introspection and reassurance for me to get there. He respects me as a sexual partner and what happens in his mind when he wanks to porn has no negative affect on what happens in our real-life sex.

With the exception of some pretty extreme perspectives, there's very little I regard as "messed up" when it comes to sex. We all have our own unique experiences which inform our feelings on the subject. I think that's just fine.

You might enjoy classic porn movies from the 1970's. More normal looking actors and the plots seem in many cases to be deliberately campy and silly as opposed to contemporary porn, which just seems to consider plot as a value-added extra that you haven't paid for.

I really love classic 70's adult fare. Debbie Does Dallas is kind of adorable and one of my favourite porn films of all time.

I love how we're introduced to each other - you fill out my poll on underpants, I fill out yours on porn. :)

This could be the beginning of a long and vaguely inappropriate friendship. :)

I haven't precisely created porn, but I did record a song written by a friend that was intended for a gay porn version of A Midsummer Night's Dream...

OMG! That is BRILLIANT! Where do I find said version?

I don't believe the movie ever got made - at least, I haven't heard anything since I recorded the track...for the orgy scene, no less.

Porn viewing definitely comes up everytime I date a boy. I remember when one of my exes was watching mainstream porn, I was kind of like shrug. And then he started downloading tons of Suicide Girl pics (this was when I had the pink mohawk and piercings) and I was like - HEY! I'm your suicide girl, also what's with the holding out on me.

Sigh, though SG has it's problems, it can be such a uniter.

Everytime I decide to borrow the SG DVD from VE, someone rents it.

Hi, acronyms much?
