[I am taking Dexter through Dexter by Design canon before the show goes back on. Enjoy.]

What makes a person a monstre, Community? A monster.

Insanity. Killing without remorse.

This goes even a little further than that.

How much further?

A lot further. This goes beyond killing without remorse. This is killing without a purpose; a rhyme or reason.

This is killing as a recreational sport.

It's Spanish. Everyone's Cubano around here.

And a pork sandwich to go.

That seems to be a popular answer. This guy shows a complete absence of even the basic knowledge of remorse. It's almost like he's playing a game; proving a point. I'm just not sure what that point is yet.

I don't think anyone could really become a monster. You'd have to do everything against the very nature of being a person.

And what would that take, in your eyes?

What would it take? Not... living. Seeing no purpose.

There's definitely no purpose here.

Someone who doesn't care, or likes, to really hurt people.

By your definition, there are a lot of monsters running around free.

Most of the monsters I've seen were because of war but there were also people who killed because they liked it. They didn't care who it was or who it hurt. They were monsters. I hope there aren't a lot of people like that in your world.

Then you've never been to Miami. But I guess I can't complain. Murderers keep me in a job.

That is very subjective.

Yes, it is.

So, why do you ask?

A particular crime scene. It was especially .. horrible.
