[Accidental Video] Entry 005

Feb 14, 2011 17:09

[The camera opens on an Aria who has by the looks of things not long woken up - she's still in bed, still in her vest-top and pyjama bottoms combination, though she's sat up, and seems both confused and transfixed by her wrist. One particular person will be able to see the red string tied around said wrist. After a moment or two she gets up and ( Read more... )

[Aria is now dressed but still looks distracted]

What? Oh. I didn't even notice this had posted. But to answer your question, I'm trying to figure out why I suddenly have red string tied to me and why I'm feeling so compelled to see where it leads. And why I'm apparently the only one who can see it, considering neither my brother nor my dad seem to know what I'm talking about when I ask them.

So I've heard. This is the first time it's happened to me, though.

Huh. That's...unusual. It's definitely there, though, I know it is. And, well, it's more like...when I look at it and think about following it, I have to fight not to just give in and follow it. It's a little worrying.

I'm guessing this is one of those Valentime pranks.

Really? I'm not sure what red string has to do with Valentine's day...especially red string that apparently only I can see.

I don't know either. Let me check wikipedia...

It's for warding off bad luck in traditional Jewish beliefs, in China it connects you to a soul mate...

A soul mate? Well that would make sense with the whole valentine thing...

Wait. Valentine's day? But that's not for a while yet.

AH! [Greed is immediately up close and personal with the camera/screen, as if he could reach through and actually investigate the visible string on her wrist across the internet.] Oi! You! You have one, too!

[Drawing back, Greed gives an eager tug on his own, stretching it out.] Then, you can probably see this, right? I'm not out of my mind over here!

[And then in a split second, he goes from desperately confirming his sanity to wearing an easy going grin and a greeting, as if familiar with her.] Hiya.

[Okay, this is new. She's seen other people talk about the string but this is the first one she's actually seen. And felt, thanks to the tug, but only faintly enough to know they're probably linked.]

Um, yeah. I...I can see it. [Compelled by a mix of curiosity and something she can't quite put her finger on, Aria gives her own string a tug, just in case she imagined the previous part]

[And as he seems to relax, she leans in more towards the screen - there's a feeling of something like familiarity, though she's pretty sure they've never spoken] Hey. So, um, this is...different, huh?

[The string visibly moves on his end when she tugs. He blinks, then looks satisfied with himself at coming to the same conclusion: they're connected.] Heeeeeeh. Yours is the only one I've been able to see on here, and with this... [He gives another counter tug.] ...that answers the first part of the mystery.

Well, it's not different in a bad way! Can't say I'm disappointed on what's on the other end of this! Hell, we both lucked out!

[Nope, not just imagining it. Not that she can say that's a bad thing] Same here. I've heard other people mention theirs but I haven't seen them. This would explain why.

[She's clearly flattered] Never said it was a bad thing. Makes me wish I hadn't spent all morning convincing myself not to see where it leads.
