Yes, precisely. ... You'd have to find a spell allowing you to create a dimensional portal, I suppose. It's odd that you would be so far apart, though.

Anyway. You know you're their soulmate because the red string is there. That's what it signifies. The theory is that even if you did like someone else, you would return to the person you're connected to eventually. ... I believe. I'm not entirely clear on it.

[Zuko actually doesn't see this, because he's the type of person, upon waking up and discovering a red string tied around his hand, that follows it down the hall to a door that looks suspiciously like Claire's.

He's heard of this red string legend before, and it provokes a facepalm from him, still standing out there in the hallway. Seriously, what is with everyone thinking he and Claire are in love?! He might care about her... a lot... but they're not in love. He still has Mai. Even though she hasn't been seen in years, and Claire is right here...

Taking a breath to brace himself, Zuko opens the door and pokes his head in.] Uh, Claire? You're attached to this string, aren't you?
