People dislike rap and hip-hop for the same reasons people hated jazz once upon a time. It's just as legitimate as any other type of music.

Many people call rap noise. But each form of music is its own unique expression. I would think it's terribly closed-minded to write off an entire genre without giving it a proper chance.
