Trust is usually risky. Love is bad if it's for the wrong person. We feel because our minds want to trick us into being foolish and weak.

As for emotions, it depends on which one.

why is trust risky? and love can be bad as well as good?

i see. so it is mostly trickery we resolve to fight against.

which ones do you like?

Trust can be risky because you can trust the wrong person. The same with love, like I said.

I like determination.

a double-sided blade.

ah, determination. has it done well for you?

I do not know how to answer these questions.

why? surely you must know something. even if it is not... "real", as they might say.

Emotions are a new experience for me even now. It is difficult to put my experience into words.

i see. do you think you will understand them more as time passes?

Emotions are useless, dangerous things.

'From the start, from within'. I wonder what point you might be making this time around.

are they? then why do people insist on keeping them?

i have my reasons, though i wonder if you'll be able to guess this time around.

Because people are foolish and dangerous themselves. Clinging to love and trust is simply a sure-fire way to bring destruction upon yourself.

Riddles again? By the 'within' part, perhaps you mean within ourselves, considering all your talk of emotions.

so emotions only bring danger and harm? i was unaware.

perhaps, perhaps not. on or off, black or white. it's difficult to tell when the statement is vague, isn't it?

Trust is what allows people to coexist with one another. Love is the fruition of trust that has matured between two people. We cling to these concepts because humans are social creatures and therefore cannot survive alone.

Emotions are what make us human... What separates us from monsters...

but what about those who want to be alone? do they still need them?

monsters? if someone has no emotions, that makes them a monster?

People don't truly wish to be alone... Even if they think they do.

To feel no regret for sins committed or evils perpetrated... To know neither joy or sorrow or anger or love... To be human means to experience and know all these emotions. Emotions are what tempers logic and reason. What gives restraint to our actions.

is that what you have observed, or do you speak from experience yourself?

...i see. but it is also just as easy to be a monster and feel those emotions, for many use them just to get their way, or take advantage of others.

Emotions are important. They're what help to give us humanity.

and if one does not have humanity, then what?

infinite_arcana December 30 2010, 20:49:17 UTC
It counts on what you define as humanity. I... knew someone that certainly wasn't human, but there was no doubt of his humanity.

and what do you believe humanity is? can everyone achieve it, even if they are not human?
