Hmm. It has been a while since I have posted here, hasn't it? Well then. A question is necessary.

What do you think of using children as soldiers?

I have been told it is quite unusual on Earth, yet it seems that their are many warrior children here on the community...is that right, or necessary, according to your philosophy?

Children should be allowed to grow without the confinements of war.

Hello, Karakael-san.

I see. Is such a freedom common on your world?

Hello, Kanna. How have you been?

...Soldiers start very young.

It has been a very long time for me - a thousand years. I understand it's only been a few months for the others on the community.

It is the same in my universe.

How strange. Such time lapses happen often to people from my universe, but it is strange to see others experience such a thing.

Have the years treated you kindly?

Quite unnecessary, really, but not so uncommon in certain cultures.

Interesting. Why do you believe it to be unnecessary?

A fight's a fight. War's usually a big thing. Why not let 'em have a part in it if they can't just say "it's got nothing to do with me!" It's kinda like lettin' 'em slug it out on the playground, but bigger, I guess...

So all should be included in the game of war, whether young or old?

I wanna say yeah, but y'know, I'm not nuts about smacking kids around, and I don't like hittin' women at all...

I guess it's more like when there's no choice but to fight, you gotta fight, young or old. For kids and girls, too.

Would you feel comfortable fighting against children, even in a just war?

I see.

It shouldn't be allowed.

Why? And how would one prevent it?

It could be prevented if there were no wars.

no fail! just a common mistake! hok_ton November 29 2010, 23:23:04 UTC
And how do you propose eliminating warfare?

NO! Children should be having fun and not blowing themselves up.

hok_ton November 29 2010, 23:04:17 UTC
Surely they could be taught to not 'blow themselves up'.

Dat is not the point! The point is children shouldn't have to go though such misery. They are children!

They can be miserable when they are adults.

Is war really a misery? Why does humanity love it so much, then?

Should not misery be shared among all, regardless of age?
