Regardless of skill, a reputation isn't so easy to tarnish if it's a reputation well earned. As long as a man...or place, in this case...is capable of living up to said reputation and continues to do so after being dishonored the damage can only be temporary.

And it should go without saying, but this community is extremely capable of living up to its reputation.
