There are legends of the Man from the East, who brought alchemy to my country. But I don't know if they're true or not.

Many thought the Dragon Campaign was only legend since not many records were kept during the time of that war. It was not until the Dragoon Spirits surfaced, and the power that they hold was real, that people realized that it really did happen.

Understandable. That's somewhat similar to my current situation - I just wrote it off as a myth, at least until I found myself in the castle itself.

You gotta survive a week in the Game so you can win your life back. You and your partner gotta complete all the mission without getting erased.

Make it to the other end and you win back your life.

That's horrible... why force people into playing a game with their own lives?

I get that all the time! But mostly its just people using names from mythology that are similar to their powers. I haven't met many real gods.

I can see where people would do that, though - try to intimidate people by saying they have those sort of powers.

But no accounts of legends actually turning out to be true?

Yeah. Though who knows, in ancient times maybe they would have made legends about people with the kind of powers my friends and I have.

Where I come from there are plenty of legends that are true...though it is more often urban myths. I mean, I'm the last in a line of witches, for example.

Well, witches are common in stories, but... I don't think I've ever actually met one.
