Do worlds where everyone is equal work out very well?

Unfortunately not. There has, of yet, been only one world in the history of our galaxy that achieved such an ideal in truth, and it was destroyed quite a long time ago. Which is not to say that the quest for such an end is impossible, but it would be beyond my ability to create.

Most societies that claim equality slowly devolve into false utopias. Equality seems to be against human nature.

I may not be the one to decide on castes. I don't like the system I'm in, and I don't have experience with any other.

Maybe religion. Can a religion be focused more on love for one's fellow man than it is on the afterlife and how the world works? We could avoid so much bloodshed if that was the prevailing thought...

That could be arranged. Something based on the Mother Vara, perhaps. Thou shalt not harm thy neighbor, respect the Mother's sacrifice, sanctity of all life...it is doable.
