Meant for TARDIS crew, accidentally posted to main comm.

Oi! I just got a call from Mum that my grandfather has randomly gone blind. I'm heading back to Chiswick to see what's going on. The doctors have no clue what's going on and it's not just him that's got something wrong with him!

...I guess that knocks off the virus theory.

What was he doing before he went blind?

Virus theory? Sorry, I haven't been around for a bit. Is another one going around.

Just sitting on top of the hill out back with his telescope according to what Mum said. It's not just him, several other people who were out at that time of night heard a bang and then, well, they either went deaf or blind or completely numb! It's mad! Only reason there isn't a panic is because only a handful of people got it.

A few people on the community have mentioned someone or themselves suffering from similar symptoms, so several thought it might a be virus. However, as far as I know only community members are affected be the viruses, so that just about knocks out that theory.

Was there anyone suspicious around at the time?

Well there a half dozen or so people in Chiswick who are sick now!

I don't know. Mum just said there was a loud bang like a bomb went off somewhere then a half hour or so later Granddad came stumbling into the house blind as a bat! She hung up before I could even say anything!

....but I'll ask Gramps if he saw anything. Great big telescope of his can't be pointed at the stars all the time and knowing him he probably started looking for whatever caused that banging sound.

[he sounds weary and distracted, but concerned]

Oh, no.

Do be careful, Donna - whatever caused it might still be present.

What? None of this "timeywimey" business he's always going on and on and on at length about?

I think I like you already!

This isn't good, it looks like this is happening all over... I'm coming with you, alright? I'm sure Lockon can watch the girls for a bit.

You can go poke your nose where the thing went off and I'll ask the people in the hospital questions. We'll meet up somewhere in the middle. Deal?

Done. There's bound to be some traces left from this sort of thing, I can pop back to the TARDIS with them and get them analysed.

How's your mum taking this, by the way?

How do you think? She's going bonkers. Part of the reason I'm going is to make sure she doesn't drive Gramps insane with her yammering on and on and on about fireworks and the like.
