Sorry to bother you, community, but I was hoping someone here might be able to give me some advice.

If you were looking for someone who didn't want to be found, where would you start?

Also, I'd appreciate it if you didn't mention this to Wesker or Birkin or anyone else from my world. It's...kind of sensitive. Thanks.

Hmm. I suppose it would depend on who the person was, really. I am pretty good at tracking people down.

What do they do? Where are they from? Any particularly noticable background?

It's complicated. The person I'm looking for is supposed to be dead. I'm probably the only person who knows he's alive, but I haven't seen him in ten years and I have no way to contact him.

Well, he was a Marine in the US Navy, but there was some trouble and he was...discharged. I don't know where he's from, but I know he'd be going under an assumed name. If anyone found out he was still alive, it would put him in danger.

Sorry, I know it's not much.

Hmm. Well, people rarely drop off the map completely. Especially with technology the way it is. Does he have any family? Old friends? Where was the last place he was seen?

I'm not sure about family or friends. We didn't really know each other that well. But the last place I saw him was in the Arklay Forest outside Raccoon City. The city's not there anymore; the government dropped a nuke on it in ninety-eight. I don't know where he went after that.

Just a friend. I haven't seen him for a long time, and I just...want to make sure he's okay.

If he's your friend, I'm sure he's fine, Rebecca.

Besides, friends have a habit of showing up and appearing when you least expect it. Or, at least, letting you know that they're okay. It's why they're your friend in the first place, they're there to help even when you don't think they can.

You're probably right. I know he can take care of himself, so I'm sure he's fine. But it would be nice to see him again and know for certain.

Thanks, Dante. You're really good at this.

Well, I'd start looking in caves, but I guess it just depends on the kind of person you're looking for.

...I don't know if he's the kind of person who'd hide in a cave. I think Mexico or South America might be more his style.

If they don't want to be found they probably got a good reason for it, right?

I know that, but I'm not the one he's hiding from.

He might feel that keeping out of contact is protecting you, though. Especially if he's hiding for something big.

Maybe, but he doesn't have to. I can take care of myself.
