Research: I need your help

Ok, so I need help for a story I'm writing. This question is for people who wear high heels routinely (like every day for work, if possible, or at least every once in a while):  What would it feel like if you were wearing your favorite heels and had to walk for hours straight on hard concrete floors? Where would it start to hurt first, and after

My toes hurt first, then my heels (because I walk pretty heavily). And personally, I'd take them off and go around barefoot if I could get away with it (and do)!

Would you be any less likely to take them off if you were wearing really nice silk stockings?

I'd be afraid to wear silk stockings, personally, but I'd probably take both off.
