Freddie's head flew around when he heard her voice. He knew it wasn't her, but he couldn't help but have that kneejerk reaction of 'Florence?' that hurt his heart whenever he thought about it too hard. The problem now was there was something wrong with her voice. She sounded like...fuck. She sounded like she was going to cry.

"Maureen?" he asked, heading out of the bedroom and...shit.

"I'm going to kill him," Freddie said evenly. He was deadly serious.

That did not help the trying-not-to-cry thing - not because she was upset at the thought of Freddie going after him, but because it was so immediately obviously what had happened. Fuck, how had she been so stupid?
