There's a cheap $15/$19 USB mouse from just about anywhere - Dick Smith, Myer...possibly Officeworks or JB Hi Fi too.
Actually, I'm pretty sure Officeworks has a $10 one... $9.96 $12.89 And both of those are Logitech ones! Logitech is a good brand to go with. But then again, I'm not quite sure what you're looking at in terms of quality of a mouse.
I am completely agreed with you about the weather. Also, did you notice that the rain was patchy in areas? Like, you'd literally drive through a section of road where it was hailing and then a section of light rain and then another section of heavy torrential rain...

I wasn't travelling when the rain was going on, but it did seem to come along very suddenly and end the same way.
