I use Spybot and Ad-Aware - both are free, and there's none of that "we've done the scan and found problems, but you have to pay if you want us to fix them" bollocks. Spybot is definitely the most essential one, it's really good. Our PC got infected with loads of viruses and tracking cookies and whatnot a few years back and it got rid of the lot.

I shall definitely keep them in mind -for tomorrow, anyway, since I think I ought to get some sleep soon.

Though the name "Spybot" sounds somewhat familiar.

I use AVG on one computer and Rising on the other, FWIW.
