Smart Phone Call out

Alright, so I have exited the dark ages with a snazzy new samsung captivate in hand (yes, I have to be on AT&T, it's the family plan). It is, however an android (though not a Droid). In light of this, and my complete ignorance to such things, I would -love- for you to post what apps you have and like (android ones), along with maybe a brief ( Read more... )

Nothing on here costs money, fyi, although some of them are (lite) versions.

Games:
Gem Miner
LaserReflect (can be a bit hard to use, but very challenging)
Pipe Dreams
Proximity
Solitaire
AstroCommand
Starbase Defense
Air Control
Backgammon
Frozen Bubble
NetHack
Spades (probably play this the most)
LightsOut
Spirograph

Utility:
AndExplorer (can be useful for file management)
Android LightSaber (makes requisite star wars light saber effects when swung ^_^ )
Barcode Scanner (to use those nifty Android 3-D program barcodes)
DiceBox
DroidLight
Google Sky Map
HP Tracker
Key Ring (the one for loyalty cards, if you want to use it)
Magic Marker
PDANet (allows you to use your phone as a modem and tether it to your computer, giving you (albeit slow) wireless anywhere you get connectivity) Best if you have a laptop, obviously.
Sound Recorder
Urbanspoon (this thing rocks if you like food. you can get a list of all restaurants close to you, and ratings/prices)

Almost everything J has.
AIM
Pandora
Youtube
Facebook
Twitter
Book Mobile - For scanning books you might want to buy or something.
Vignette - For taking photos with special effects. Costs $4 o_O

My favorite app is Shazam. You hear a song (on the radio, on tv, in a store) and press the button. It listens for a bit then tells you what the song is, the artist, the album etc and links to amazon and other places where you can buy it. It stores your songs as well.

That's... amazing! If only it could also read your mind to know "that song you heard once, it might have had the word girl in it". >_
