Random crossover thoughts

I was reading a BtVS/Highlander crossover today and had an interesting thought. Now, this may have already been covered in the world of crossovers, but I don't often read them. I'm slowly working my way through the renting the Highlander series from Netflix (I'm up to disc 2 of season 2), so my interest in crossovers has been sparked again. I'm not ( Read more... )

Oh interesting concept.

I've seen fanfic focusing on one of the Slayers becoming an immortal but nothing with a potential Immortal becoming a vampire.

Usually I read fics where Willow becomes an immortal, and is paired with Spike or Angel. Oddly, I'm reading a W/Methos story now and get this idea. ::shrugs:: I can add this to my plot bunny folder as something to explore, if I ever feel up to attempting a BtVS/Highlander crossover myself.

I haven't read any Buffy/Highlander crossovers but my own personal take on it would be that they would be a Vampire and an Immortal. I don;t think they would be able to go out in the day though as their immortal gene wouldn't stop them becoming a human shaped fireball and going poof, therefore seperating their head from their body, as the immortal's (from what I can remember, it's been a while since I've seen the series) still actually "die" when they die (as in their heart stops beating and they show no signs of life) but they come "back to life" within a few minutes, but this would be too late for a poofed vampire.

So according to you, they'd basically just be a vampire. Being an Immortal would have no benefit for them, because anything that would kill the vampire would kill the "person" before the part that makes them Immortal would have a chance to kick in.

If you're following the rules that we've seen set out on screen then yes. But on saying that, I remembered after I posted this about Dracula within Buffy and his being able to coalesce his dust to reform. It could be argued that he had immortal gene and that's what allowed him to reform after he'd been dusted.

I don't think any have been written. Just my brain being creative.
