nothing satisfies but i'm getting close

and now for a poetry lesson on the glorious A.R. Ammons...

I've been recently blown away by his genious and figured i'd share some of my favorite parts of his poetry...

STILL

I can find nothing

to give myself to:

everything is magnificent with existence, is in

surfeit of glory: nothing is dimished,

nothing has been diminished for me...

So, you've conquered the first bit, you enjoy it... Now for the fun part, what does it awaken within you, what does it make you feel. Take these tumultuous feelings and organize them, what words made you feel each emotion; each vowel, which lines stood out with particular resonance, which stanza sounded to the depths of you? Listen to the sounds and cadences of each line and savor the beautiful quality of each vowel and syllable. Now, you love poetry.
